Jacqueline Garcia Furdham
Director of:  www.easylinguistics.com and www.oksitges.com

Towards the end of the last millennium Jacqui flew to Barcelona in search of her heart, which she’d left behind months earlier whilst travelling around Europe in an old camper van. She’d quit her job in the City. Good pay, great social life, but working in the financial world was suffocating her creative spirit.

At twenty- five, Jacqui dreamt of finally putting her degree in creative writing and media to use and living by her pen.
She got a little side-tracked and within two years she’d attained her diploma in TEFL, learnt Spanish and set up a successful language academy, OK Idiomas.

Ten years on Jacqui continues to run OK Idiomas and has a beautiful baby girl who inspired her to write a series of children’s stories.

A passion for languages and a strong belief that alternative learning methods can be highly effective in complementing traditional study techniques led Jacqui to translate her stories.
Easylinguistics was born and audio books for bilingual babes and little ones emerged.

Although Jacqui is the director of two companies and a mother, she is organised and focused and always fun to work with.

Ella Rowe
Director of: www.easylinguistics.com

Many colourful years of working on luxury cruises, living in Italy and France, and travelling the world working for an Arabian airline and the UK’s leading airline, all contributed to Ella’s lifelong passion for languages and gave her the incentive to take the TEFL diploma when she finally settled in the Spain.Ella

Ella is a true linguist. She spoke Italian and French while living in Italy and France and now living in Barcelona she speaks Spanish and Catalan. It’s hilarious watching her with her 4 year old twins who go to a local Catalan school. To ensure they learn English, Ella speaks to them in English and they answer merrily in Catalan. It’s a conversation in two languages. The locals are always amazed!

Ella used to spend hours searching for alternative courses to help her with her languages, but always to no avail, so she would end up buying English novels translated into the language she wanted to learn and devour them!

Ella’s a creative spirit and believes strongly in the power of the subconscious mind, which is something which she has been studying for many years.
This, combined with her love for languages has fused to form the basis of the Easylinguistics method; learning languages while in a relaxed state… the easy way!

Ella is creative and driven. Her ideas for Easylingusitics are endless and her happiness while at work is contagious. In fact, she loves what she’s doing so much, she doesn’t see it as work at all!

Jamie HeesbeenJamie
Music Composer and Producer of MP3 tracks.

Jamie is a very handsome and talented young man who started his music career at the ripe age of 9, having had a few guitar lessons at school.

Over the years he has taught himself not only guitar, but keyboards, drums, base and the more technical side of music production and composition.
Jamie got together with a group of school friends a couple of years ago and ‘The Rend’ was born, an alternative Indie Rock Group. This is where Jamie started to show interest in the live audio and sound and musical equipment side of things. After investing in some professional equipment and setting up his own recording studio, Jamie’s talent has flourished, as you can hear from the quality of Little Boy Yellow and Pela the Class Pet, which he both composed the music for and produced whilst taking his A levels!

Jamie loves playing all types of music, but his true passion is for composing. In September 2009 Jamie is going to Kent University to study sound engineering and music production.
A rock legend of Tomorrow!

You can hear some of Jamie’s music here

Steve Burgess – Illustrator

Easylinguistics co-director Jacqui and Steve are old friends, so Steveimagine how thrilled they are to be working together even though they live in separate countries.

Many years ago, after seeing Steve’s wonderful drawings all over his parents’ house, Jacqui made Steve to make her a promise…
‘When I write children’s stories, you have to illustrate them for me!’
And so here they are, now all grown up, writing stories and illustrating. Both doing what they love! Lucky things!
Steve has done a fabulous job on the Little Boy Yellow and Pela the Class Pet and we can’t wait to see what he comes up with for our future stories.

Steve is based in London and if you’d like to contact him, let us know. We’ll be more than happy to put you in touch.

 Manolo

Manolo Santamarina
Translator – English to Spanish

Manolo Santamarina has been a freelance translator of English for more than ten years. He specializes in software and Web page translations, but he has translated a wide range of subjects.
We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Manolo due to his professionalism and attention to detail when translating and we love his translations of our stories.

Manolo lives in Sitges (Spain) and has been fortunate enough to spent long periods of time living abroad in Great Britain, Ireland, Argentina and the United States.

Isabel Tortosa
Translator – English to Catalan

Isabel

Isabel has been enchanted by the written word since childhood and has fortunately managed to find more time for writing in recent years. She loves doing literary translations into Catalan, which, having been brought up in Barcelona, is her mother tongue.
Also very culturally aware and articulate, it’s certainly not uncommon to find a letter written to a local or indeed national newspaper by Isabel.

Isa tells us she enjoyed working on the Little Boy Yellow and Pela the Class Pet translations and we are delighted with the Catalan versions of both stories.

Isabel is currently writing a novel which she has not yet finished. Let’s hope she finishes it soon, as we are sure it will be a great success!

PeterPeter Scherschel
Web Site Designer: www.anagio.com

Peter, our fabulous webpage designer is based between Barcelona, Sitges and London.

He is building up a client base both in the UK and in Spain. Being almost tri-lingual, English, Spanish and German (with a smidgin of Catalan thrown in for good measures) has helped him understand the concept and requirements for our website and beyond.

We love working with him, not only for his expertise in websites, but also for understanding both what we need from our site, along with the long term goals of our project. He’s full of ideas and adaptable to our ideas too.

What more could you ask for from a web designer?
